Velma Jean Bartholomew

Our mother Velman Jean Bartholomew has completed her final chapter of life on earth.  She passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at  the age of 96 after a brief illness.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Pine Street.

She was one of six children born and raised in Arkansas and the last to pass away.  She married Gene Bartholomew in 1944 the day she graduated high school.  Five children were born to them.

She was a CAN, and a caregiver to children.  She delighted in making appliqued baby blankets which were given to family, friends and pediatric units.  Gene passed away in 2004.  In 2006, she moved from Arkansas to join her daughter in Sandpoint.  She looked forward to family visits and had a love for her church.  Her pumpkin pies were legendary.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, husband Gene, son Clifford and recently grandson Darry Manning.  She is resting and awaiting Jesus’ return.
