Virginia (Ginger) Louise Kohal passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 15, 2018, at the age of 80. Services will be held at 11am Wednesday May 30th at Coffelt Funeral with a gathering after at Oden Hall. Ginger was born on July 26th 1937 in Sandpoint Idaho the 4th of five children to Emil and Louise (Hanson) Anderson. She attended Kootenai Elementary and graduated from Sandpoint High School. She married Ronald on July 29th 1955 in Coeur d’Alene and resided in Kootenai for the length of their marriage (62 years) where they raised their family just 3 houses down from her childhood home. Ginger drove kids to Head Start in the 70’s as well as volunteering her time over the years at local Senior Centers and Thrift Stores and she also belonged to the Kootenai Birthday Club. If you stopped by a yard sale you were likely to see her there buying “treasures”. She looked forward to her Seattle trips visiting family, often bringing along a grand kid or two. She also enjoyed painting ceramics, making ceramic dolls, playing Bunco and going to craft or doll shows. When she could, she attended many grand kids and then great-grand kids functions to show her love and support. Ginger cared greatly about others, visiting when she could. Ginger leaves behind her husband Ronald, Betty Kohal, Pam (Mike) Rogers, Bob Kohal, Lorri (Lyle) Belgarde, Jeff (Bridgette) Kohal, 16 Grand kids, 32 Great-Grand kids and many more extended family and close friends. She is proceeded in death by her parents, sons Randy and Billy Kohal, brothers Myrvin (Bill) and Emil Anderson and sisters MaryAnn Edwards and Edna Poston. Ginger will be truly missed by her family and by all who were fortunate to know and love her.
