Bill retired in January 2004.  When his wife Sharon retired from the school district in Sandpoint in August 2004 they sold their home on Bottle Bay Road, bought a 5th wheel trailer and traveled all winter of 2004-2005 down to Arizona and all across New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana to as far as Mississippi.

When Bill and Sharon returned in the spring of 2005 they bought a home in Leisure Park in Hayden.  Bill worked for a short period of time transporting Burlington Northern Crews and then went to work part-time for the next fifteen years at the Links Golf Club in Post Falls in the Pro Shop.  He made many friends there over the years and ran the Wednesday Night Men’s League.

Bill and Sharon continued to travel the country during the fall and winters visiting many National Parks and places of interest across the southwest.
